Chromatic Blade is a Warframe Augment Mod for ExcaliburIcon272.png Excalibur's ExaltedBlade130xDark.png Exalted Blade that increases EWExaltedBlade.png Exalted Blade's status chance while changing its damage from physical damage to a primary elemental damage, depending on Excalibur's chosen primary emission color.

Stats[edit | edit source]

Rank Status chance Cost
0 100% 6
1 200% 7
2 250% 8
3 300% 9

Acquisition[edit | edit source]

  • This mod can be acquired by attaining the rank of General under Steel Meridian, or the rank of Maxim under the Arbiters of Hexis, and spending ReputationLargeBlack.png25,000 to purchase.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Chromatic Blade works the same way ChromaIcon272.png Chroma's passive does.
    • White, grey, black, and some faded colors being Cold b.png Cold.
    • Blue and purple hues being Electricity b.png Electricity.
    • Red, magenta, brown, orange and bright yellow hues being Heat b.png Heat.
    • Green, lime, teal and dark yellow hues being Toxin b.png Toxin.
    • Note that players do not need to purchase color palettes to unlock the full potential of this trait.
    • While customizing Excalibur's energy color, Chromatic Blade's active element is displayed in the form of an icon (Heat b.png, Electricity b.png, Toxin b.png, Cold b.png). This imgur album can serve as a reference for future color palette purchases.
    • Customizing the secondary emission and the energy colors will have no effect.
  • The elemental damage granted by Chromatic Blade will combine with any elemental damage present on EWExaltedBlade.png Exalted Blade.
  • The status chance increase granted by this augment is multiplicative and is affected by Ability Strength.
    • For example, using a maxed Mod TT 20px.pngIntensify, Mod TT 20px.pngDrifting Contact, and Chromatic Blade results in:
      Base status chance × [1 + (Chromatic Blade Bonus × (1 + Strength Mods)) + Status Mods] = 0.15 × [1 + (3 × 1.3) + 0.4] = 79.5% status chance
    • To achieve 100% status chance without any status chance mods, Ability Strength must be at least 189%.
  • Physical damage mods will no longer affect Exalted Blade's damage with Chromatic Blade equipped.

Tips[edit | edit source]

  • Although Chromatic Blade removes all Physical Damage, it is still possible to inflict Impact b.svg Impact procs through the Cutting Poise combo of Exalted Blade's stance.
  • Due to the large status chance boost this augment gives, it pairs well with Mod TT 20px.pngCondition Overload. Furthermore, players can forgo dual status-elemental mods, such as Mod TT 20px.pngVolcanic Edge, and use mods that only increase Elemental Damage, like Mod TT 20px.pngMolten Impact, to further increase Exalted Blade's total damage.
  • The status chance boost also simplifies creating a Crit-Status hybrid build as status chance mods are no longer necessary.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Chromatic Blade is the only one of Excalibur's augments to not feature him with his Immortal Skin and Pendragon Helmet equipped on the mod card.
  • Just like with Chroma, the name of the augment comes from the Greek word Chroma, meaning colour.
