Dark Sector Reference

Warframe is a game based heavily on Digital Extreme's earlier sucessful project: Dark Sector. These are the features in Warframe based on aspects of Dark Sector.

• Tenno: The word Tenno is based off the protagonist of Dark Sector's name, Hayden Tenno.
• Excalibur: Around midgame of Dark Sector the player will obtain a power suit that looks exactly like the Excalibur frame.
• Infested: Not the infested themselves, but the infested are created by a plague called the Technocyte Virus. while the effects of the T-Virus are different in each game, the concept are the same (zombie like creatures with no recollection of their past selves)
• Glaive: The Glaive is a weapon commonly used in Dark Sector alongside Hayden Tenno's sidearm. It is created with his infected arm and obtains upgrades regularly throughout the game.
• Grineer: The Grineer are present in the 8 minute trailer of Dark Sector as an enemy.
• Jackal: In the same trailer a mech very similar to the Jackal is seen.
• End-Mission Animation: In the trailer Hayden Tenno is seen stepping into the dropship the exact same way a warframe would. Not only this but the room is exactly the same and also features the hanging Corpus suits in the background.
• Lotus: The Lotus symbol is seen throughout Dark Sector. It is also the games icon and in game organisation.
