Broken-War is a sword formed from half of the War greatsword, the weapon gifted to Stalker by the Sentient Hunhow. This weapon is granted as a reward for completing The Second Dream Quest, and its blueprint can be dropped by the Shadow Stalker upon death or when he is forced to flee. It will also be available through Sorties sometime in the future.

This broken version of War deals mostly damage instead of the War's , making it better suited against flesh.

Characteristics

This weapon deals primarily damage.

Advantages:

• Highest base damage of all single-handed weapons.
  • High damage – effective against Infested, Flesh and Cloned Flesh.
• Comes with a and polarity.
• Stance slot has  polarity, matches Crimson Dervish and Vengeful Revenant stances.
• Slam attack ragdolls enemies.
• Good critical chance.

Disadvantages:

• Lower and damage, less effective against shields and armor.

Notes

• The Broken-War comes pre-installed with an Orokin Catalyst and weapon slot upon completing The Second Dream.
• The weapon's default attack uses the Vengeful Revenant stance's move set instead of the normal longsword actions.
• The Broken-War is currently used to construct the War, which will remove it from the inventory.
  • The Broken-War requires the War to build, yet the latter requires the Broken-War to build in return. This makes the War and the Broken-War the first examples of weapons with recursive built requirements.

Trivia

• The Broken-War is a piece of the larger War greatsword, which was split in two following the climax of the Second Dream quest, with the smaller piece torn being re-purposed into a longsword.
