Botanist is a mod that allows Oxylus to periodically scan nearby plants, consuming Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner charges in the process.

- This mod can be acquired from Cephalon Simaris for
75,000.
Notes[]
- Requires a Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner equipped in the gear slot for Oxylus to use scan charges from. If there are no charges, Oxylus will just not scan anything.
- The order of scanner usage is Codex Scanners then Synthesis Scanners. Once all Codex Scanners have been used, Oxylus will begin to consume Synthesis Scanners.
- If one has a Sol-Battery Widget, these scans will not drain charges from the Synthesis Scanners, allowing for free scanning. (Make sure to not equip any Codex Scanners, since Codex Scanners are consumed first regardless of Sol-Battery Widget.)
- Botanist will continue to scan appropriate plants after their codex entries are completed. This can be particularly important to remember for getting material to feed the Helminth, as multiple plants can be used as such.
- Requires line of sight to the plant in order to scan.
- Is not affected by the Vector Thread widget.
- Is not affected by the Cross-Matrix widget.
- If using a Synthesis Scanner, its automatic scans will not contribute standing for Cephalon Simaris.
