Brakk has higher DPS, Faster Reload, and Higher Fire Rate.
Marelok is more accurate and has one extra round in the clip.
Brakk works extremely well with Tanky warframes OR warframes that can get into the middle of the battle like an invicible loki.
Marelok works best at mid to long range..especially since it has a slower fire rate and slower reload. You also have to be aim more for weak point and head shots.
Brakk you only have to just aim at the body and you will do tons of damage.
I forgot what to recommed.
If you like side arms that have usefulness at late game....Obviously Brakk, Marelok, Despair are the top three to run with.
Don't sleep on the Hikou, Dual Vastos (VERY HIGH DPS).
I also like the akstilettos, and lex prime. I only equip those for mid level game play..if I am going hour and thirty plus minutes on T4 survival..it's going to be Brakk or Despair.
I personally never consider weapons like mangstrum, castanas, or stug. I used those iin the past as a way to nuke trinity...OR for infested Defense...TO ME...it's not practical in my game play style on T4 Survivals...I will likely kill myself with those weapons.
-MR16 over 1050 hours of game time.
DPS too low for my liking. The Acrid out DPS the tysis.
tysis is not about dps. it is about one to two shots reducing the target to 0 armor, and knocking it down.
i try not to worry much about raw dps 40 minutes into a T4S, as it is utterly meaningless at that point.

Actually DPS becomes even more significant as you progress into a survival...The longer you go...the higher DPS you want.
I am not sure you know this...but the faster you kill enemies the faster they respond...the faster they respond...the MORE mini life supports you achieve.
so the higher your DPS the faster it is to take down an enemy. Tysis DPS is very low...not fast enough to take down tons of enemies in T4 Survival...PLUS...when I play T4 Survival...I only run with friends and we all wear corrosive projection...IF you look at that mod...it's minus 30% reduction to Armor...if everyone has on that card...There is no armor on the heavy gunner. It's amazing...all my survivals are well over an hour long.......I never leave until all the life support is gone..which is around the hour and thirty minute mark....and in my opinion that is too early...I am working on getting to a two hour survival on T4. That's a goal of me and my friends...The thing holding me back is two of my friends are kind of new to the game so we have to get their weapons and mods maxed out.
DPs is not per shot...its Damage Per Second...
For Example...Max Serration, Heavy Cal, Split Chamber, Speed Trigger, (Infected Clip + Cryo Rounds, (Storm Bringer + Hellfire) on Boltor Prime is
2,170 per shot...but 34,725K per Burst Damage Per second. 21,174 per Sustained Damage Per second.
Lets take Acrid vs Tysis vs Despair because I will do same build for all Three Placing all maxed mods (Barrell Diffusion, Gunslinger, Hornet Strike, Lethal Torrent, Deep Freeze + Pathogen Rounds, Convulsion + Heated Charge)
On Acrid
454 Viral Damage
327 Radiation
Total Damage 781. BUT burst DPS is 12K, Sustained DPS is 5.4K
ON Tysis
318 Corossive
476 Viral
571 Radiation
Total Damage is 1,365 with Bust DPS at 8K, and sustained DPS is 5.4K
ON Despair
25 impact
399 puncture
74 slash
748 viral
893 radiation
2,145 total damage BUT...16.4K Bust DPS, 10.2K sustained DPS.
After reviewing these numbers...it's Despair > Acrid > Tysis for DPS...
You completely and absolutely missed the point, good work.
tysis is not about DPS. when you have the highest dps primary and one of the highest dps melees in the game, and are primarily meleeing, the whole point is one shot knocks over and heavily debuffs a mob.
tysis is the only secondary i even consider taking to survivals, except castanas (on nyx only).
yes, i have a lex prime, a marelok, both with forma.
I have to go with Rhionhi on this one. Tysis is something I use often for Survivals, and it hasn't failed me yet. When each shot from Tysis goes through enemies and can proc Corrosive, Viral, or Radiation, you can turn a room full of enemies into a room full of confusion and chaos. Spray it around the room and everything takes more damage, shoots each other, and/or gets half-healthed. Whereas some other weapon might have killed 2 high leveled enemies (maybe 4-5 if you have Seeker on), Tysis has already stopped 10 from shooting you and has applied some heavy debuffs as well. Plus, it's actually pretty decent for killing certain enemies, even at high levels.
Tysis deals way, way more damage than it mathematically has any right to, as decided by my clan. we have no idea why.
