As he crashed onto that rock, his Shikoro helm greeted the cultists. Note the angled ballistic plating and reinforced neck protection.
To equip your newly bought or crafted helmet, go into the "Arsenal" page, then click on 'Appearance' tab, the Helmet will be the first item in the section labeled 'Physique'.

A shikoro is a neck guard that consists of many overlapping layers of sheet metal, and is one of the parts of a Kabuto, a type of helmet used by ancient Japanese warriors.
