The pinnacle of Entrati weapons design: dual energy mortars that fire with such devastating power that the Necramech must first be locked into a brace, stationary turret mode.

The Arquebex are a pair of heavy energy mortars of Entrati design, functioning as the Voidrig Necramech's built-in Exalted Weapon. It can only be utilized through using the NechramechArtillery Guard Mode ability, which will bunker the mech down in a siege-mode to compensate for the recoil.

Characteristics[]

  • This weapon deals primarily DmgBlastSmall64 Blast damage.
  • Innate Madurai Pol polarity.

Advantages:

  • Highest base Area of Effect damage of all weapons in the game, and combined with its firing rate, highest DPS of all weapons in the game.
  • Tied with Mausolon Mausolon for the second highest critical chance of all Arch-guns, behind fully charged Velocitus Velocitus.
  • Very high critical multiplier.
  • Tied with Larkspur Larkspur primary fire, Mausolon Mausolon alt-fire, and Morgha Morgha alt-fire for the highest status chance of all Arch-guns.
  • Shots explode in a 6 meter radius on impact with a surface or enemy.
    • No Damage Falloff.
    • Initial hit and explosion apply status separately.
    • Explosion does not need direct line of sight to deal damage and will penetrate walls.
  • Does not have reload.
  • Does not consume ammunition for shots.

Disadvantages:

  • Requires time to activate and then again to deactivate.
  • User cannot move while active.
  • User cannot switch into Operator form or Warframe while active.
  • No zoom, thus cannot benefit from Mod TT 20px Critical Focus or Mod TT 20px Marked Target.
  • Projectiles have travel time with heavy arcing.
    • Default-color projectiles can be nearly invisible making it difficult to determine the projectile's trajectory before impact, unless the Energy/Emission color of the weapon is customized to something highly visible like bright blue or green.
  • Explosion cannot headshot.
  • Requires Necramech ability energy first to activate, and then drains energy continuously while active even when not firing.

Notes[]

  • The Arquebex appears in the Arsenal after unlocking Voidrig's NechramechArtillery Guard Mode ability, allowing for the ability to upgrade it and customize its colors.
  • As an Archgun, the Arquebex uses Arch-gun mods, but is incapable of penetrating the armor on the Profit-Taker Orb.
  • "Particle System Quality" must be set to Medium or higher in order to see the projectiles and tracer rounds fired by the Arquebex.

Bugs[]

  • The Arquebex will appear in the mission results screen and appear to collect Affinity, even if the Voidrig Necramech was not in use.
  • The color of the projectiles fired is determined by Voidrig's Energy color, rather than the Arquebex energy color.

Trivia[]

  • Like MesaIcon272 Mesa's Regulators Regulators, the Arquebex is not a summoned weapon but instead activates an already present "body part".
  • Its name seems to be derived from the "arquebus", the earliest known design of a rifle.

Patch History[]

Update 32.0 (2022-09-07)

Headshot Damage Changes

During playtesting, the ammo changes alone weren’t enough to significantly change things for AoE weapons. So instead of tightening these values to be overly restrictive, we chose to address other factors that make these weapons so strong, such as headshot damage.

Our approach here is two-fold, to reduce the impact of headshots for AOE weapons, but to also make precision headshots pack a larger punch overall.

  • Radial damage no longer gains extra headshot damage or triggers headshot conditions.
    • This is primarily targeted at the Ignis Wraith - as a “flamethrower” weapon, it’s hard to imagine a blanket of elements being precise enough to target weak points specifically. Explosive projectiles themselves can still land headshots, so there is still a reason to aim with most weapons for maximum damage.
