This unusual automatic rifle feels strangely familiar and has two fire modes. Primary fire packs radiation damage. Alternate fire charges up to launch an explosive projectile.

Aeolak is an Orokin Era Grineer rifle repurposed by the Void's Thrax Legatus. Its primary fire shoots highly accurate fully-automatic rounds while its Alternate Fire doubles as a grenade launcher.

Characteristics[]

  • This weapon deals primarily DmgPunctureSmall64.png Puncture damage on its primary fire and DmgBlastSmall64.png Blast damage on its Alternate Fire.
  • Alternate Fire charges a powerful round that explodes.
    • Shots explode in a 7 meter radius on impact with a surface or enemy.
      • Initial hit and explosion apply status separately.
      • Explosion does not need direct line of sight to deal damage and will penetrate walls.
      • Explosion inflicts self-stagger.
      • Explosion have linear damage falloff from 100% to 10% from central impact.
      • Can benefit from Mod TT 20px.png Firestorm (Mod TT 20px.png Primed), but not Mod TT 20px.png Amalgam Furax Body Count.
    • Charge time is not affected by fire rate mods.
    • Projectile is unaffected by Punch Through.
    • Charge is automatic and does not need to be held down.
      • Unless held down, the weapon fires as soon as it has reached a full charge, which can lead to premature firing.
    • Consumes 10 ammo per shot.

Acquisition

Aeolak's main blueprint can be acquired from Tier 4 Chrysalith Bounties. The barrel blueprint drops from Void Cascade. The receiver and stock blueprints drops from Void Flood. All components can be traded, but not the main blueprint.

Expected means a player can expect to obtain at least one of a drop every N attempts on average.
Nearly Guaranteed refers to the total number of attempts a player needs to obtain a 1 in 10^2,3, and 4 probability not to have recieved a single drop (99%, 99.9%, and 99.99% probability to have received at least one drop).
The combined probability of multiple drops is 1 - ((1-A%) * (1-B%) * ...) (add drops in same rotation)

Notes[]

  • The Aeolak's ability to act both as an assault rifle and as a grenade launcher makes the gun somewhat functionally similar to the Corpus TenetTetra.png Tenet Tetra and Stahlta.png Stahlta.

Trivia[]

  • Artwork for the Aeolak was first showcased during TennoCon 2019.[1]
    • Accredited to 3D artists Tim Bergholz, Kaz Adams, and Lucas Hug and concept artists Keith Thompson and Lucas Hug.
  • This weapon is modified from a rifle that first appeared in the Awakening cinematic, armed by Orokin Era Grineer.

Bugs[]

  • Manually reloading after using the alt fire will make the weapon default to a soundless Braton style reload. The Kuva Hek shares this bug.
  • Terminal Velocity does not currently show up when modding the weapon, thus cannot be applied.
