yes
Well, it's okay if you want to stay as Excal. But if you want to progress, you need to build other frames.
Now, besides farming frame parts from those open world maps, you can also farm frame parts from Boss stage. Some also drop from special mission like Disruption.
If you want, you can search the frame you want to farm in the wiki. The page has a list of the parts location, as well as the resources required to build said parts.
Hope this would be helpful for you, Tenno.

Well, it depends on the mods, and mine's not the strongest
But yeah, I forgot about the 6x shields
And the 4th tick damage
And the amazing damage
So yeah, me not a good Volt player
But, Im still love my Volt Prime :)
Still my trusty Tonbo polearm
So this is an idea to nerf Grakata huh
It's when you shoot something, and it hurts you too
Hmm...in the end, how strong he is depends on your mods. And you'll do most of your killing with your guns and blades anyway when using Volt.
Mine's not the strongest, but I'm enjoying playing as Volt because of how versatile he is. He can fullfil almost every role you need in your team.
Shock provides quick CC, Speed grants movement buff and attack speed (imagine using Speed along with Valkyr's Hysteria), Electric Shield protects you and your team from incoming damage, and your objectives, and block chokepoints like corridors or doors,
and Discharge turns a room into lightning chain CC party. All of them does not have an amazing damage, but they will support you and your team.
That's the reason I always choose Volt for almost every mission.
Who the hell just awoken me from my slumber, you piece of sh,
